Dear parents and guardians,
Welcome to a new 2012-2013 school year! I want to introduce myself as your child’s new teacher for the current school year. My name is Samantha Bryan and I will be one of the fourth grade teachers at St. Helena-Incarnation Regional Catholic School. Fourth grade should be a very exciting year for your child and I look forward to working with each and every student. Throughout the year, please feel free to e-mail me with any questions or concerns that you may have. Our classroom website will be a valuable source of information and will be updated daily. This is my second year teaching for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Previously, I taught at St. David’s in Willow Grove. Prior to that I completed my student teaching experiences in the School District of Philadelphia. I have experience working with ESL students, as well as, hearing impaired students. Prior to teaching for the Archdiocese, I worked as an Applied Behavior Therapist in an early intervention program, serving students with special needs. I graduated from West Chester University in 2008 with a Bachelors degree in Fine Art. Shortly after, I went on to complete my certification and Masters in Elementary Education and graduated from Holy Family University in 2011.
I believe in the use of positive reinforcement and will be implementing a reward system to encourage appropriate and on-task student behavior. In addition, I am also a firm believer in helping students relate what they are learning to the real world. I strongly encourage parental involvement and communication throughout this school year. If at any point in time you have a question or concern please e-mail or call the office.
Please do your best to purchase school supplies promptly. I also ask that you complete the parent contact form as well and have your child turn it in as soon as possible. I also encourage parents to attend the Open House meeting on 9/12/12 at 5pm in the gym! Thank you in advance for your cooperation throughout this current year.
